Episode 4 – The Curse Is Broken
Nova and Valeriy returned to the underground temple.
This time, Nova knew what she had to do.
Even so, her heart was beating fast.
When they reached the center of the temple, the strange symbol on the floor began to glow.
Nova looked at it.
— Is this the place?
Valeriy nodded.
— Yes.
Nova took a deep breath.
— I'm ready.
Valeriy stepped back.
Nova opened the ancient book and stepped onto the symbol.
She took the small knife and carefully cut her finger.
One drop of blood...
fell onto the symbol.
For a few seconds, nothing happened.
Nova looked at Valeriy.
— Nothing happened.
Suddenly...
BOOM!
The entire temple began to shake violently.
Nova nearly lost her balance.
Dust and pieces of stone began falling from the ceiling.
Cracks appeared across the stone coffins.
Whispers began coming from inside them.
— Help us...
— Wake us...
Nova looked at Valeriy in fear.
— What's happening?
Valeriy shouted:
— Keep reading! Read the verses!
Nova opened the book.
Her hands were trembling, but she began to read.
With every word, the temple shook harder.
Cracks spread across the walls.
The stone pillars began to move.
The whispers from the coffins grew louder.
Nova was terrified.
But she didn't stop reading.
Finally, she spoke the last word.
And then...
Everything became completely silent.
Nova held her breath.
Suddenly, a brilliant light appeared in the center of the temple.
The light grew brighter and filled the entire underground hall.
The dark stone walls began to break apart.
The ancient stones transformed before their eyes.
The prison-like rooms disappeared.
Golden decorations appeared across the walls.
Huge columns rose from the ground.
The old stone coffins vanished.
The terrifying underground temple...
had transformed into a magnificent palace.
Nova looked around in disbelief.
— Is this really happening?
Valeriy walked toward her.
— You did it.
Nova smiled.
— Is the curse really gone?
Valeriy nodded.
— It's gone.
Nova finally breathed a sigh of relief.
But then Valeriy remembered the promise he had made to her.
He looked at Nova.
— I haven't forgotten my promise.
Nova looked at him.
— What promise?
— I promised you one wish.
Nova looked around at the magnificent kingdom.
She thought for a moment.
But nothing came to her mind.
— I don't know yet.
Valeriy smiled.
— Whenever you're ready.
Nova smiled back.
— Thank you.
That night, Nova returned home.
Everything seemed peaceful again.
But Valeriy's promise stayed in her heart for years.
Because sometimes...
we don't know what our greatest wish is until life shows us what we've been missing.
