DREAMS
My name is Umi. I am 18 years old. I have short white hair and blue eyes. I don't like talking. I don't like sleeping either. I don't like crowds.
That night Umi had the same dream again.
A white mansion rose within thick fog. Its windows were dark, but a single light was on in the room on the top floor. A man dressed in black standing in front of the mansion was looking at her without saying anything.
Just as Umi was about to see the man's face, she woke up suddenly.
Her heart was beating fast. This was not an ordinary dream. Because Umi's dreams often came true.
A year ago she saw her neighbors' lost dog in her dream, and the next day the dog was found exactly where she had seen it in her dream. Later she also dreamed of a small accident that would happen at school days before it happened.
That is why every dream she had scared her a little.
When morning came she opened the window. The sky was overcast. Right then her grandmother called.
"Umi," the old woman said in an anxious voice, "I found something very old I want to show you."
When she went to her grandmother's house in the afternoon, a yellowed photograph was on the table.
The moment Umi took the photograph in her hand, her breath caught.
The place in the photograph was the white mansion she had seen in her dream that night.
And the man dressed in black standing in front of the mansion was there too.
Umi's hands began to tremble.
Because only three words were written on the back of the photograph:
"Before you find him..."
