Blue Moon Vampire

Bölüm 3

The Danger Is Getting Closer

Ashley couldn’t sleep after what she had learned.

The truth about her identity—the last Blue Moon Vampire—kept echoing in her mind like a scream in a cave. Her heart wouldn’t stop racing. Her thoughts were tangled with fear and questions. So instead of sleeping, she sat at her desk, the cold blue glow of her computer screen lighting up the darkness.

She read more. Searched deeper. Every forum post. Every myth. Every whisper of truth.

But the more she read, the heavier it all felt. Her bloodline wasn’t just rare—it was hunted.

And if the Red Moon Vampires found out she was still alive…

Ashley shook her head. She couldn't let that happen.

As the sun began to rise, painting the sky with soft orange and pink hues, she finally closed her laptop with a sigh. Her eyes burned with exhaustion, but her decision was clear.

She changed her clothes quietly, wearing dark jeans, a simple black hoodie, and tied her hair up. Then she stepped into the living room.

It was quiet. Empty.

She checked her parents’ bedroom.

There they were—Charlie and John—sleeping peacefully, unaware of the storm brewing just outside the comfort of their dreams. Ashley stood in the doorway for a moment, her throat tight with emotion. She wanted to run to them. Hug them. Cry.

But she didn’t.

Instead, she stepped into the kitchen and scribbled a note with trembling hands.

“Hey, Mom and Dad…

I don’t know how to say this, but… I have to leave.

For our safety. For your safety.

I can’t stay here while I don’t know how to control my hunger.

And the other vampires… they’re looking for me.

I know this sounds ridiculous, but it’s true.

If they find me… they’ll find you too.

Please, don’t come looking for me.

Stay safe. Stay happy.

Until we meet again.”

She folded the note carefully and placed it on the kitchen table.

Ashley stood still for a long moment, her eyes scanning every corner of the home she had known all her life. The walls. The photos. The warmth. She memorized it—every detail—as if she might never see it again.

Then she turned around and walked out the door.

The streets were nearly empty. The cool morning air bit at her skin, but she didn’t care.

She had one goal: hide. Disappear. Stay out of sight—especially from those who might recognize what she was.

Ashley made her way to a small 24/7 market tucked between two buildings. She kept her hood up and her head down. Inside, the cashier didn’t look twice at her.

She scanned the shelves quickly and found what she was looking for.

Red contact lenses.

The kind people wore for costumes. Halloween stuff. But for her, it was a shield. A way to cover the most recognizable part of her—those rare, glowing blue eyes.

She bought the lenses and ducked into a nearby alley to put them on.

The mirror on her phone screen showed her new reflection:

Red eyes. Cold stare. A vampire, yes… but not the Blue Moon Vampire anymore. Not to anyone who might be watching.

“Good,” she whispered to herself. “At least it’s a start.”

But she knew this wouldn’t be enough. Not for long.

If the Red Moon Vampires truly were out there…

She had just become their number one target.

And somewhere out in the world… they were already moving.

Meanwhile, back at home…

The early morning light spilled into the bedroom. Charlie stirred first. Her hand reached over to John's side of the bed. “Morning,” she murmured.

John yawned. “Already? Feels like we just fell asleep…”

Charlie got up, heading into the kitchen to make tea. But when she stepped in, her eyes fell on the folded note sitting on the table.

At first, she thought it was just a scrap of paper.

But then she recognized the handwriting.

“Ashley?” she called out instinctively.

No answer.

She picked up the note and began reading.

Her hand trembled. “John!” she cried, her voice tight with panic.

He rushed in, still groggy. “What is it?”

She handed him the letter.

He read in silence. His jaw clenched. His eyes darkened with fear.

“She’s gone…” Charlie whispered. “She left. Because of us.”

“No,” John said firmly. “She left for us.”

Charlie sat down slowly, eyes glassy. “We should have seen this coming. We should have done more to help her...”

John placed a steady hand on her shoulder. “She’s doing what she thinks is right. But we’re not just going to sit here and wait.”

Charlie looked up. “You mean—?”

“We find her,” John said. “We help her. We protect her. Like we always have. We are her family. And we don’t give up on her.”
