Blue Moon Vampire

Bölüm 2

A Legend About Truth

Ashley walked slowly under the soft glow of the moon, the school bag hanging loosely from her shoulders. The quiet of the night felt different now—heavier. Like the shadows were whispering. Her thoughts swirled in confusion—not just about what she was, but what she was meant to become.

As she turned the corner and approached her house, the warm yellow light from the living room spilled onto the porch. It felt oddly… human. Like a place she didn’t belong in anymore. She stepped inside.

“You’re home,” Charlie said softly from the couch, setting down her tea.

Ashley nodded. “Yeah, school was… normal.”

She sat on the couch next to Charlie and raised her head, looking at her mom’s aging face. A gentle smile formed on her lips—soft, but distant.

Charlie returned the smile with warmth, but Ashley’s mind was already drifting.

She still looked like a teenager… even though she was far from it. The wrinkles on Charlie’s face, the way her hands trembled slightly as she picked up her tea—every detail reminded Ashley how different she truly was.

Everything she saw, everything she heard was a quiet echo of the truth she was trying to understand:

She wasn’t human. Not really. And the more she remembered, the more that truth clung to her.

Ashley looked at her mom again. The warmth in Charlie’s face brought her comfort, but also a strange kind of ache.

“Mom…” she said softly.

Charlie turned to her, smiling gently. “What is it, my dear?”

Ashley hesitated. Her fingers fidgeted in her lap before she reached out and took Charlie’s hand.

“Do you… do you know who my real family is? Where I really come from?”

Charlie’s smile faded slightly. Her eyes softened, and her grip on Ashley’s hand tightened—not in fear, but in care.

Ashley noticed the sadness growing in Charlie’s eyes. She immediately pulled her hand back a little.

“Oh… I’m… I’m sorry,” she said quietly, her voice cracking. “I shouldn’t have asked. Just… forget about it.”

Charlie blinked, her lips parting as if to speak—but she didn’t. She simply looked down at her own hands. A silence filled the room. Not cold. Not angry. Just… heavy.

Finally, Charlie spoke, her voice gentle but trembling slightly.

“No, Ashley…” she said, shaking her head slowly. “You deserve to know… at least what little I do.”

Ashley looked back at her, eyes wide with a mix of hope and fear.

“You were left alone on a dark street. Just a baby. I don’t know by who. I don’t even know why. But I remember…”

She paused.

“There was a woman. I didn’t see her clearly—just her silhouette. She was walking away when I found you. And before she disappeared into the dark, she turned back—just for a second. And I swear… her eyes… they were the same shade of blue as yours.”

Ashley froze.

Blue. Again. The same color from her dreams. From her eyes. From the moon that night.

Charlie continued, her voice softening. “I’ve never seen eyes like that before… or since. Until you.”

Ashley responded softly, “Thank you, Mom.”

She kept her eyes on Charlie’s—filled with warmth and something deeper: love.

But then… something shifted.

A sharp, twisting ache bloomed in her stomach. It burned like fire. Her gaze dropped to her own body, her hand instinctively resting over her midsection.

The hunger. Stronger than ever. Worse than ever.

Ashley suddenly stood up. Her chair scraped across the floor. Charlie looked up in surprise.

“Ashley?”

“I… I have to go,” Ashley said quickly, her voice shaky. “I’ll be back soon. I promise.”

Before Charlie could say anything, Ashley rushed out of the house, slamming the door behind her.

She didn’t know where she was going. But she knew one thing: she couldn’t stay home.

Not while this hunger kept growing.

Not while her parents were still human… still vulnerable.

Ashley ran through the empty streets. She saw people walking by, spending time with their families, their lovers… but none of it mattered. The hunger was taking over. She could barely hold herself back. Her feet carried her through countless streets as her mind raced:

“Blood…”

“No, no. I can’t.”

“Blood…”

“I can’t do this…”

“BLOOD.”

In the shadows of a lonely corner, she spotted a small cat. Her heart twisted.

“Little cat… I’m so sorry… but I have no choice…”

Slowly, hesitantly, she reached out and grabbed the tiny cat.

Her teeth sank into its neck, and she drank the warm, coppery blood.

Ashley drank its blood with hunger and desperation. The little cat’s life slowly faded from its bright green eyes. When she finished, she gently laid the body down on the cold pavement. Then, she started heading home—walking through the narrow alleys, cloaked in night.

At home, Ashley went straight to her room without saying a word. Minutes later, a soft knock on the door:

Knock, knock.

“Ashley, can we come in?” John’s voice was soft, but full of concern.

Ashley hesitated. “…Yeah.”

The door opened slowly. Charlie stepped in first, followed by John. Their eyes immediately found the faint traces of blood on Ashley’s sleeves.

Charlie knelt beside her.

“Honey… what happened? Where did this blood come from?”

Ashley looked down at her hands again, as if seeing the stains for the first time. Her throat tightened.

“I… I couldn’t stop it,” she whispered. “It was getting worse. The hunger. I thought I could control it. But…”

John’s brow furrowed. “Did you… hurt someone?”

Ashley shook her head quickly. “Not someone. But… a cat. I didn’t mean to. But…”

Charlie’s face softened with sadness. She reached out and gently held Ashley’s hand.

“Oh, sweetheart…”

“I’m scared. I don’t want to become a monster,” Ashley said, her voice cracking.

John sat down beside them, placing a firm but gentle hand on her shoulder.

“You’re not a monster, Ashley. You’re just… different. But that doesn’t make you bad.”

Ashley’s eyes welled up. “Then what am I?”

Charlie looked her in the eyes and said, “You’re our daughter. And we’ll figure this out. Together.”

“I’m dangerous for you…” Ashley muttered, staring at the floor.

Charlie squeezed her hand a little tighter.

“No, you’re not,” she said firmly. “You’re scared. That’s all. But that doesn’t make you dangerous.”

Ashley finally looked up.

“I killed something tonight. I fed on it. What happens when a cat isn’t enough? What if I lose control and you’re the ones in front of me?”

John leaned in, his voice calm but serious.

“Then we’ll help you before that ever happens. You’re not alone in this. We knew it wouldn’t be easy.”

“But you didn’t sign up for this,” she said quietly.

Charlie shook her head. “Yes, we did. The day we brought you home, we chose to love you no matter what. That hasn’t changed.”

Ashley closed her eyes, trying to hold herself together.

“I don’t want to hurt you. Ever,” she whispered.

Charlie brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. “And you won’t. Because you’re strong. And we’ll help you learn to control it. You’re not the first vampire in the world, Ashley. There must be answers out there.”

Ashley nodded slowly. “Okay…”

After her parents quietly left the room, Ashley sat there in silence. Their words lingered in her mind, but the fear still pulsed in her chest. She wiped her eyes, took a shaky breath, and turned to her desk.

She sat and turned on her PC. The screen glowed in the dark room. She began typing:

‘Types of vampires’

‘Vampire kinds and legends’

‘Vampire bloodlines’

Hundreds of results appeared. Articles, blogs, old mythologies, obscure forums. She clicked on the most serious ones. She read about vampires who could walk in sunlight… those who burned under it… those who drank animal blood to survive… and those who craved human blood.

She learned about ancient clans, secret wars, vampire hunters, and forbidden bloodlines.

But one name kept popping up—always shrouded in mystery and fear:

Blue Moon Vampire.

There wasn’t much. Just fragments. Cryptic notes.

Ashley searched deeper. Most pages were missing, restricted, or full of unreliable rumors. Nothing solid.

She leaned back, rubbing her temples. “Why is everything about them so hidden?”

Then she saw it—an ancient image on an old-looking page:

A figure with glowing blue eyes standing beneath a blue moon. The face was mostly hidden in shadow, but something about it made her skin crawl.

Those eyes… they looked just like hers.

She whispered to herself, “Why did vampires destroy their own kind? Why did they hunt Blue Moons?”

She typed:

‘The Blue Moon Vampire Legend’

A few old articles and forum posts appeared. One caught her eye—a blog post titled:

‘The Cursed Bloodline: Behind the Blue Moon Vampires’

She clicked it.

“In nearly every mythological record, Red Moon Vampires ruled the vampire society. Born during crimson lunar events, they gained immense power—but were feared for their cruelty. In contrast, the Blue Moon Vampires—rare and mysterious—were said to be born only once every few centuries, under a blue moon.
It is believed they carried a unique energy. Not just bloodlust, but balance. Compassion. Power and restraint combined. Many legends say the Blue Moons were hunted… not for being dangerous… but for being different. A threat to the cruel Red Moon dominance. The last Blue Moon Vampire was believed to have been killed over a hundred years ago… or so they thought.”

Ashley stared at the screen, trembling.

“They thought I was dead…” she whispered.

She remembered the dream again. The man who screamed at her.

“You should have died… like the rest of your kind…”

Ashley sat still. Her heart pounded.

She wasn't just a vampire. She was something more.

She was a Blue Moon Vampire.

The last of a nearly extinct bloodline.

And now…

Others would come looking for her
