PART 2: THE GREAT AWAKENING
The soothing sound of ocean waves slowly faded away. The white sands, the romantic streets of Italy, the great victories I had achieved—all of them began to dissolve like a cloud of smoke.
When I opened my eyes... I was greeted by the familiar morning light filtering into my room.
The ticking of the clock on the wall echoed through my mind.
This was my present, my real life. I lifted my head and looked at my hands... They weren’t the smooth hands of my 15-year-old self. Time hadn’t gone backward. I had never returned to the age of 15.
All of it... the incredible successes I had experienced, the wrong marriage I had escaped, the cities around the world I had visited, the perfect life I had rebuilt... I had experienced everything in just one night, deep inside a dream.
It had been a lie. Or so I thought...
I sat on the edge of the bed. A single tear rolled down my cheek. But this time, it wasn’t because of pain or helplessness. It came from a strange sense of relief deep within my soul.
That dream had taught me the greatest lesson of my life. For years, I had been trapped by the thought, “I wish I could go back to when I was 18. I wish I had never made those mistakes.” Now I realized how much that thought had imprisoned me.
In my dream, I had changed my future, yes... But when I woke up, I understood something: true power wasn’t in changing the past. It was in letting go of the weight of the past and embracing the present.
That day, I learned that the mistakes I had made at 18 weren’t meant to destroy me. They had shaped me into the mature person I was today. Yes, I couldn’t turn back time—but somewhere deep inside my soul, I had finally forgiven myself.
I wiped away my tears, walked toward the window, and opened the curtains. A new day was beginning outside.
And for the first time in my life, I took a deep breath—not with the regret of the past, but with hope for the future.
— THE END —
