Lale jumped out of bed as the door hinges creaked, her heart pounding wildly in her chest. As her eyes tried to adjust to the darkness, she reached for the lamp on the nightstand. As the yellow light illuminated the room, she saw Rüzgar standing in the doorway.
"What do you want?" Lale asked, her voice trembling. There was no expression on Rüzgar's face in the shadows.
"We need to talk."
Lale was furious that Rüzgar had entered her room uninvited, but she couldn't deny the fact that she was afraid of him. The man who killed her fiancé was now standing right in front of her. How could she trust him?
"I have nothing to talk about with you," Lale said sharply.
Rüzgar entered the room nonchalantly and closed the door behind him. Lale's eyes followed Rüzgar's every move. The masculine scent that filled the room was throwing Lale off balance.
"You lied to me," Lale said in an accusatory tone. "You killed my fiancé."
There was a brief twitch on Rüzgar's face, but he quickly composed himself. "Yes, I killed him. But it was something I had to do to protect you."
"Protect me? You killed the man I loved to protect me?" Tears began to stream down Lale's face. "You are a monster, Rüzgar Altun."
Rüzgar took a step towards Lale. "Believe it or not, Lale. I would do anything to protect you."
"Don't come near me!" Lale shouted, staggering backwards, getting out of bed. "I hate you."
Rüzgar walked around Lale and picked up the envelope she had left on the nightstand. "Do you know who left this envelope?"
Lale frowned. "What envelope?"
Rüzgar handed the envelope to Lale. She saw her name written on it. Her fingers trembled as she opened the envelope. Her breath caught when she saw the photo that came out of it. In the photo was Lale's family.
"This... what does this mean?" Lale said, her voice a whisper.
"They found you, Lale. And your family too." Rüzgar's voice was full of concern.
Lale's world had collapsed. Her family was in danger and she was responsible. She had lived away from them for years, doing everything to protect them. But now, her past had caught up with her and her loved ones.
"What are we going to do?" Lale asked desperately.
"I need to get you out of here," Rüzgar said decisively. "You are not safe here."
"What about you?" Lale asked. "Are you coming with us?"
Rüzgar paused for a moment. "I have to stay. I have things to take care of here."
"But..."
"Don't worry," Rüzgar said, cutting Lale off. "I'll keep you safe. That's my promise to you."
Lale looked into Rüzgar's eyes. She could feel something changing inside her. She should hate him, she shouldn't trust him. But the determination she saw in Rüzgar's eyes was sowing a ray of hope in Lale's heart.
"Okay," Lale said, swallowing. "What do you want me to do?"
"You need to pack up right away," Rüzgar said. "We're leaving."
Lale nodded and headed towards her wardrobe. As she chose her clothes with trembling hands, a thousand thoughts raced through her mind. Would she be able to protect her family? Could she trust Rüzgar? And most importantly, when would she wake up from this nightmare?
Rüzgar watched Lale's movements, waging a silent battle within himself. He was ready to do anything to protect Lale. But he didn't know if what he felt for her was just protective instinct. Lale had changed everything from the moment she entered Rüzgar's life. Was falling in love with the woman he was assigned to kill Rüzgar's greatest curse or his salvation?
As Lale quickly got ready, Rüzgar was pacing around the room. His eyes were caught on the paintings on the walls, the antique objects. It was as if every corner of the house held a secret. Like Lale's past, this house had a dark story.
"I'm ready," Lale said, a voice breaking Rüzgar's thoughts.
Rüzgar turned to Lale. There was fear and worry in her eyes, but there was also determination. This woman was ready to do anything to survive.
"Then let's go," Rüzgar said, taking a step towards Lale. He reached out his hand.
Lale hesitated for a moment. Should she take Rüzgar's hand? Should she trust him? But she had no other choice. She needed Rüzgar to save her family.
Lale reached out her hand and took Rüzgar's hand. A chill ran through Lale as Rüzgar touched her. This man was both her greatest fear and her only hope.
Together they left the room and began to walk down the dark corridor. The silence of the house was like a harbinger of impending danger. Lale and Rüzgar, clinging to each other, were walking towards the unknown.
When they got outside, they saw a black jeep waiting in front of the mountain house. Rüzgar put Lale in the jeep and got into the driver's seat himself. He started the engine and the car started moving along the dark road.
Lale was watching outside through the car window. The trees and mountains looked like silhouettes in the dark. She didn't know where they were going, but she wanted to believe that Rüzgar would keep her safe.
After a while, the car got on the main road and started to speed up. Lale leaned back and closed her eyes. She was tired, scared and desperate. But at the same time, there was hope inside her. Maybe Rüzgar could save her from this nightmare.
As the car sped along, Lale received a message on her phone. Lale opened her eyes and took her phone in her hand. When she read the message, her blood froze.
*"Did you think you could find us? The game is just beginning, Lale."*
