Blue Moon Vampire

Bölüm 5

Who Is She?

Ashley found an old museum on the internet named Le Musée Du Mystère, which had old tools, legends, books, and inscriptions of mystic creatures. She thought she could find more about vampires there, so she went.

At night, she saw the huge black, elegant door of the museum. She stepped inside among a lot of visitors. The interior had white walls, opposite of its exterior. She kept walking around and read the titles of sections: “Witches”… “Fairies”… “Werewolves”… “Vampires.” She entered the vampire section.

The section was full of statues of old vampires, rumors about people who claimed to have seen real vampires, legends about vampire hunters like Van Helsing, inscriptions said to belong to vampires, and pictures of vampire depictions from different cultures.

One picture caught Ashley’s eyes. The woman in the picture looked almost exactly like her. They both had long brown hair, a petite nose, and pale skin—but there was one difference. The woman in the picture looked older than Ashley. She took a closer look. There was something written on it:

“Monica Paul: The Last Blue Moon Vampire (1520–1975)”

“The last Blue Moon Vampire?” Ashley thought. “It says she died in 1975… that’s my birth year…”

Another person entered the section—Amora. As she walked in, she immediately sensed the other vampire, but acted like she was just there to visit the museum. She slowly walked through the section, trying to find the other.

While walking among the people, she noticed her target—standing in front of Monica Paul’s picture. Before getting closer, she hypnotized the keeper of the section and ordered him to clear the room.

Ashley noticed everyone leaving—except one woman, who was staring directly at her. Ashley felt danger radiating from her and began walking toward the door.

“Nice to meet you, Blue Moon,” the woman said.

Ashley froze for a moment, then turned around and asked, “Who are you?”—trying to stay calm.

“It doesn’t really matter who I am, Ashley,” Amora said. “But it does matter who you are.”

“How do you know my name?” Ashley asked.

“Oh, I just paid a little visit to your house. And your very hospitable human parents told me everything they knew about you.” She chuckled.

Ashley shivered at that chuckle. Did she hurt my family?

“Don’t worry, darling. They’re alive. I don’t really like old blood.”

“Well, I’d really like to keep this conversation going but… you know, I have other matters to attend to. So…”

Amora suddenly threw a punch toward Ashley. The impact sent Ashley flying into a wall, cracking it. She let out a quiet moan of pain as blood started to drip from her left arm. She stood up immediately.

Amora readied for another punch, but this time Ashley was faster. She grabbed a small statue and threw it toward Amora. Amora narrowly dodged it.

“I see… You are something, huh?” she said.

Then she manipulated a picture frame and flung it at Ashley. The picture cracked against Ashley’s stomach and pinned her to the opposite wall.

Ashley quickly pushed it off and tried to think.

“Holy sh1t… She’s stronger than I thought. Who the f1ck is this woman? And that thing she just did… is that a normal vampire skill? Can I do it too?”

But her thoughts were interrupted—Amora kept throwing things at her.

Ashley scanned the room. Her eyes locked on a dagger—the Holy Dagger: the nightmare of vampires. She focused hard, trying to manipulate and lift it with her willpower. Her head throbbed from the strain.

Finally, it began to move.

Amora laughed. “Is that all you can do? I thought you were sup—”

Her sentence was cut off by the dagger flying into her head. She collapsed to the floor.

Ashley gasped for breath and looked down at her. Then, without a word, she left the museum.
