When the first sights of sunlight started to set, Ashley was still sitting on her chair, reading the diary, so focused that she didn’t even notice the time passing. Until the sunlight burned her skin. “Auch!” she moaned, standing up and quickly closing the curtain. Then she returned to her chair and kept reading.

Cursed Ones
We are the cursed ones, at least that’s what Red Moon vampires say. I always wondered why we receive so much hate, suffering, and pain. I did some research, and the least I’ve found is… The Blue Book.
A legend says it was written by the first Blue Moon Vampire. He was born under the blue light of the moon. It was terrifying… it was disgusting for those Red Moons who had never seen a Blue Moon vampire before. No one could blame them for being afraid of something new. But what happened after that… was mostly their fault.
The first Blue Moon vampire was lonely, alienated from society. And when he grew up, the Red Moon vampires exiled him from London. So he went to Transylvania—the city of freaks and monsters. There, he met a witch who was also alienated from her own kind. The witch helped him write The Blue Book… so they could take revenge on the Red Moon vampires.
And he did.
But it only made things worse. All the Red Moon vampires who were linked to him became sick, lost their minds, and died… including innocent ones. After that, the hatred the Red Moon vampires felt toward us only grew stronger. So they hunted us down one by one. I am the only one who survived… along with my precious baby growing inside me.
Ashley’s eyes stayed on the page for a long time. For the first time, she didn’t immediately react. She just… read. And with every sentence, something inside her shifted slightly. She leaned back in her chair. “…So it wasn’t that simple,” she whispered. She turned the page.
Some say that legend is not real. Some say it is, and that The Blue Book is somewhere out there in Transylvania. And some say the book was destroyed by the Prince at that time. If it is still out there, I have to find it—to learn everything that might benefit all of us from it… and then destroy it. Ashley’s eyes stayed on the page as she read further. This time, the tone felt different. More serious. More final.
‘I do not seek The Blue Book only to understand the Red Moon threat. The truth is… this book does not simply contain knowledge about them.’
Ashley’s eyes narrowed slightly. She continued reading. ‘It is aimed at them.’ She paused. The room felt quieter. Even the sound of the night outside seemed distant.
‘The Blue Book holds methods, rituals, and knowledge that could weaken the Red Moon Clan specifically. That is why I cannot allow it to exist in the wrong hands.’ Ashley slowly lowered her gaze. So it wasn’t just about protection. It was about what knowledge could do when directed at someone.
Monica’s words continued: ‘If someone reads it with hatred in their heart, they will not protect anyone…they will destroy.’
Ashley stayed still for a long moment. Then she whispered: “…So that’s why she wanted to destroy it.” Not because it was evil. But because it was dangerous depending on who used it. But then, an idea appeared in Ashley’s mind. And she kept reading with more curiosity… and a little fear.
‘March 1, 1975 No matter how much research I do, I cannot find that book. The only thing I know is… it is real. It is somewhere in Transylvania.’Ashley slowly looked forward without even realizing it. “If Monica couldn’t find it…”
A flood of thoughts appeared in her mind. What if someone had already found it? What if someone destroyed it? Or worse… what if he had found it? She shook her head. “No… no matter what happened to that damn book, I have to find it before he does.”
The night had already fallen over the city.
Ashley stood by her window for a long moment, watching the dim lights outside. Everything she had read… everything she had learned… It all kept repeating in her mind. Monica’s words. The Blue Book. Transylvania. She closed her eyes for a second. Then opened them again. “I can’t understand it by staying here,” she said quietly.
She stood up and packed a backpack. Carefully, she placed Monica’s diary inside it, along with her keys. Everything she might need… or everything she thought she might need. Then she paused for a moment. Her eyes drifted to the mirror. She took out her red lenses. Slowly, she put them on, covering the bright blue glow of her true eyes. For a second, she didn’t look like herself anymore. And that was exactly the point.
